A major move by the “The Great British Bake Off”—the show that makes you believe British food might not only be edible, but even scrumptious—is now leaving a bad taste in the mouth of the hosts. They have declared its latest recipe for success—a move away from the BBC—to be a disaster.

No More Changes to ESV—Ever

I’m glad that’s settled.

Veteran Religion Reporter Looks for the Bible in Public Life

Maybe the Crossway decision won’t matter to everyone. A leading religion reporter traveled around the country to learn how the Bible is being used. He says that while it still may be a bestseller, the book is largely unread.

I think the Bible is the springboard to opening all kinds of ideas, thoughts, beliefs about what our life is about. And I think without it, it narrows our perspective and gives us a much more truncated view of what the possibilities are.”

So apparently if a pastor looks out at the congregation and sees people using these, he or she can rest assured that the attendees are really paying attention.

An Up-Close Look at Refugee Rescues on the Mediterranean

A National Geographic photographer spent 15 hours with a German boat crew of 15 volunteers who give up their vacation time to intercept rafts loaded with Africans making the perilous journey from Libya to Italy. So far this year, about 270,000 migrants have traveled to Europe by sea. Nearly 3,200 have died on the way.
