CHICAGO, IL (October 6, 2014) — A story about Covenant pastor Karen Brewer’s years of abuse at the hands of her husband and her eventual escape from him was the most-read Covenant News Service story in September.
Brewer stayed with her former husband for more than a decade even though he nearly killed her on several occasions, including twice choking her to near unconsciousness, breaking her nose, and holding a gun to her head—all in front of her children.
