Marjorie Anderson Dies, Service Set

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN (November 6, 2013) — Marjorie (Sill) Anderson, 94, widow of Covenant pastor C. Reuben Anderson, died November 1.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Center of Covenant Village in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

She was born October 11, 1919, in Seattle, Washington. Anderson graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific College where her musical tastes turned toward sacred music. Following graduation, she taught children kindergarten through third grade.

She met her future husband while both sang in the A Cappella Choir at Seattle Pacific. They married six years later on July 9, 1943.

The couple served eight pastorates, from Illinois to Washington to California to Minnesota.

He died in 2000. Afterward, Marjorie wrote, “I await the day of glad reunion with him and many other loved ones when we’ll be eternally together with our Lord and Savior. Until then, I want to be busy and active in letting the love of God shine from my life.”

Besides her husband, Anderson was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Johnson. Survivors include a daughter, Kari Essen of Hurst, Texas; and two sons, Wendell Anderson of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Warren Anderson of Rochester, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Covenant Village of Golden Valley Benevolence Fund.
