Cook Covenant Starting Abuse Healing Group

COOK, MN (October 23, 2013) — The Cook Covenant Church will hold its first healing group for victims of abuse on Sunday evening.

The Evangelical Covenant Women of Cook hosted an informative brunch for the community on October 5. They noted that one out of every four women has been abused, and many of them remain frightened to tell their stories and find healing.

Members of the church also talked about resources available from the denomination’s Advocacy for Victims of Abuse (AVA) initiative, which also provides training.

 

NPU to Host Preview Days for Teens Interested in Youth Ministry

CHICAGO, IL (October 23, 2013) — North Park University and the Center for Youth Ministry Studies (CYMS) will host Preview Days November 10-11 for teens interested in earning degrees in youth ministry. Participants will spend the night with a current student and attend a College Life service. The next day they will attend a youth ministry class, take a campus tour, spend time with faculty and staff, and dialogue with NPU youth ministry graduates about the types of jobs that are available.

Masterpiece Participates in Community Prayer Walk

LAVEEN, AZ (October 23, 2013) – Masterpiece Covenant Church was one of seven local congregations to participate in a first-ever combined prayer walk in the community on Sunday.

The day began at a local high school with 45 minutes of singing and instruction. Each church then walked through various neighborhoods and shopping areas where they occasionally paused at times to pray for the well-being of the people who live and do business in those areas.
