Covenant Kids Announces Trips for 2013

CHICAGO, IL (September 10, 2012) – Mission trips are being planned to follow the CHIC 2012 offering for Covenant Kids. Students raised a record $127,555 to benefit children in different countries.

Teams or individuals from groups that participated in the international youth gathering can experience first-hand what God is doing to bring hope through Covenant Kids ministries in Colombia and India.

There will be a trip to Bogota and Medellin, Colombia, during spring break 2013. Participants will get to work with Covenant Church of Colombia ministries to children. These include an after-school program.

Next summer, a team will travel to the slums of Pune, India, where they will work alongside the Hindustani Covenant Church and India for Christ Ministries, which minister to girls like seven-year-old Nagina.

Nagina works in a factory each morning to earn money for her family. In the afternoons she is able to attend a kids club provided by the outreach ministries. There she learns how to write and read letters, receives instruction on personal hygiene and learns songs about Jesus.

Nagina hopes that some day she will be able to attend school just outside the slum and not have to work each day.
