New Technology Program Available to Churches, Conferences

CHICAGO, IL (January 27, 2011) – Regional conferences and local churches of the Evangelical Covenant Church will have access to high quality technology applications at affordable pricing as part of a new partnership developed by the Covenant’s Office of Information Technology.

The new program, Covenant Technologies, will be announced during next week’s Midwinter Conference that begins Monday at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare and continues through Friday.

The technology team was asked to identify common technology needs, negotiate volume-based discounts on behalf of the 800-plus Covenant churches, and create a means of providing support. The outcome was creation of a partnership with Convergence 365, a company that will provide the denomination with a single point of contact for solution deployment, technical support and centralized billing, notes Joe Geary, director of Information Technology. “The Convergence 365 team is made up of trusted and talented individuals with a deep passion to serve Christ,” he notes.

“Covenant Information Technology staff will be at the conference next week to discuss with Covenant pastors and others the technological challenges they face and how we are now positioned to offer assistance with those challenges,” Geary says. “The technology solutions being offered are designed to work together to increase the efficiency, organization and communication of each church, so we can spend more time focusing on Christ’s calling,” he adds.

Potential technology applications include online giving, event registration, data management, check-in, eMarketing, telephones, and Internet connectivity, among others. Click here for more information about these technology solutions.

Midwinter attendees visiting the Covenant Technologies booth will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a free Apple iPad.
