Associate Pastor Killed, Member Injured in Bus Crash
Associate Pastor Kyu Bum “Kenny” Ye was killed. Member Gary Parrett (accompanying photo), who is professor of Educational Ministries and Worship at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, is in critical condition following surgery to repair a brain hemorrhage. Parrett also serves as chair of the Ministry of the Church Division at the seminary. He served as a part-time pastor at Highrock from 2003-2004.

Missionary Reports No Damage from Mexico Quake
OAXACA, MEXICO (June 30, 2010) – Evangelical Covenant Church missionary Jo Ellen Reaves said this morning that a magnitude 6.2 earthquake that hit the state this morning caused no injuries or damage in her area.

Reconciliation – Must Do It, Not Just Believe It

Resolution Honors Lives of Pastors, Spouses, Missionaries
ST. PAUL, MN (June 25, 2010) – A Resolution of Sympathy offered during the 125th Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church commemorates the lives of 16 pastors, 12 spouses, and six missionaries who died between May 27, 2009, and May 23, 2010. They also were honored during Friday evening’s worship service that included communion.

Fiscal 2009 Financial Reports Reflect Modest Surplus
ST. PAUL, MN (June 25, 2010) – The Evangelical Covenant Church finished with a $99,000 surplus for 2009, Treasurer and Director of Pension Dean Lundgren informed delegates during today’s business session of the 125th Annual Meeting.
