Worship Leader and Choir Director, Oakdale Covenant Church, Chicago, IL
In a sense, Terrance has already achieved a lifelong goal. “I didn’t know how, I didn’t know when, but I always saw myself in front of a large youth choir,” he says.
Terrance directs the Oakdale Christian Academy Choir, which began in 2010 as part of a church fundraiser for earthquake relief in Haiti. Now entering its fifth year, the choir performs regularly throughout the Chicagoland area, has traveled as far as Sweden for special performances, and even has its own music video.
A music major at North Park University, Terrance says his church’s investment in him influences how he works with and supports the children. He’s involved in the lives of his students outside of choir, whether it’s attending their other events or just making sure to check in when they need it.
