  • Lots of sincere condolences to Mary Johnson and the entire family of Lyod Johnson. I met Papa Lyod Johnson through evangelist Larry H. My very first experience was to hear deep revelation of wisdom this man of God had. He was indeed a deep well of godly wisdom and counsel even as he talked gently. My family and I will miss his profound pure godly counsel and hands on gospel of power. He truly reminded me of the scripture where Paul says, “I did not come to you with enticing words of men but in the demonstration of His power in the gospel.” Loyd was the first man of God who introduced our family to the power of Holy Communion and why Jesus said to his disciples to do this as often as they can in remembrance of Him.!
Papa Johnson, as we commonly called him, you have gone ahead of and you have lived a fruitful life of demonstrating the power of the gospel and the joy of being a believer and a husband. we will greatly miss you but your seeds planted in our lives will forever live on.

Your profound counsel in marriage relationships will live with us for ever and we are passing it on. Your nuggets and wisdom fueled our love walk with God and it became more joyful than a mere obligation. Loyd Johnson, you have taught me so much and words cannot express your impact upon my life. You will always be remembered for your unwavering faith and lively warm constructive jokes that we shared time and again. Mary, may the shalom of God always be with you and let His light continue to shine in your heart, till we meet again.
Your son in the gospel, Bishop Rev.Joseph Kalema.

  • You are so right, Mick. Loyd was a dedicated servant of God, a prayer warrior, and had as many diverse gifts and skills as anyone I have known. I will miss him. Christ’s peace to Mary and the family.

  • To the wife of the late Loyd Johnson sister Mary Johnson, his children and Life spring Covenant church in Loveland, I send my very sincere condolences from my wife Ann, our children and Grace Covenant Church where I’m pastoring. This is the church I founded in 2006 and I cherish the keyboard we had bought previously from the $400 Loyd had sent to us, and we continued to be in touch even as his health had begun to work against him.

I remember before Loyd Johnson became sick he came to Kenya and he took us, Moderator Simon Kamau and myself, to one of the most expensive hotels in Kenya where we almost didn’t know how to go about things there. We were like those dreaming as that was one place we had never dreamed of entering but through this great servant of God we did.

As he was about to go back to the USA the following day, he gave me and Simon $20 each, which to us was the whole world. Loyd Johnson was full of encouragement, and we kept in touch until he got so sick and we couldn’t communicate any more.

May the good Lord strengthen his wife and children and the church as we all celebrate his life and the great work he did for the kingdom of God.

Our church is now eight years old, and I know Loyd Johnson would be very proud to see what the Lord is doing through the seed he sowed for the establishment of this congregation.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences from all of us here.

  • I was on the conference board when Loyd was suddenly thrust into the interim superintendent position because of the death of Warren Swanson. He did a marvelous job. Because he was so self-effacing and shunned publicity few people knew how great a job he did in an incredibly difficult situation. He was one of my heroes!

  • Somebody needs to put up a statue in this guy’s honor. He saved somebody else’s bacon more than once. He was just a great guy to have around, especially if you needed somebody to cover your back.

    • Loyd was a great listener with a gentle heart. I would echo Mick’s comment and celebrate a servant of God who has gone home with honor.

    • You are right Mick Murphy, Johnson was a great man and many of us who ever came close to him will have fond memories about him.
      R. I. P Loyd Johnson.
