Kansas City to Be Site for Triennial XV

CHICAGO, IL (March 19, 2014) — Triennial XV will be held at the Sheraton Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri, July 28-31, 2016, it was announced.

Triennial is meaningful worship, thought-provoking speakers, challenging learning experiences, heart-pumping excursions, life-altering spiritual experiences, and opportunities to take next steps in addressing injustice in our world,” said Marti Burger, director of Covenant Events. “It is a chance to connect with God and with one another across generations, cultures, geography, and life experiences.”

Meagan Gillan of Women Ministries said Kansas City provides a lot of advantages for the event. “The Crown Center Sheraton will be an excellent home for us,” she said. “It’s a beautiful hotel and there is a lot happening around it.”

“There are great financial advantages for us, as Kansas City is a very affordable market to fly into,” Gillan said. “Women can add to their adventure by joining with their friends to take the Amtrak train. The station is just a few blocks away and connected to the hotel by a climate-controlled walkway.”

She added, “Kansas City is known as the ‘City of Fountains,’ which is a great image for followers of Christ. It reminds us of the living water promised by Jesus, flowing in and through us as we gather.”

  • I’m also looking forward to the next Triennial. Kansas City wasn’t on the top of my list of the options, but I’ve never been there. My mom and I have tentative plans to drive there and do some sightseeing along the way. Besides, the location is secondary to the speakers. The sessions are always interesting, and the worship services are incredible. I’ve enjoyed every other location, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this one, too. Now to start saving…
