Funeral Service Wednesday for Ann J. Carlson

LOVELAND, CO (December 4, 2012) – Funeral services for Ann J. Carlson, 94, wife of retired Evangelical Covenant Church pastor Irving Carlson, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday , December 5, in Loveland. She died November 26.

She was born on October 6, 1918, in Owosso, Michigan, to Odin and Eva Wickstrom.

She married Irving Carlson on June 21, 1941. He preceded her in death.

The Carlsons served Mission Covenant Church in Shenandoah, Iowa; Bethlehem Covenant Church in Stephenson, Michigan; Maywood Covenant Church in Foley, Minnesota; Lund Covenant Church in Stockholm, Wisconsin; Redeemer Covenant Church in Beloit, Wisconsin; and Morningside Covenant Church in Rockford, Illinois.

She enjoyed volunteering as an English tutor and helping teams to assimilate refugees from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam into the United States.

Survivors include two sons, Dwight Carlson of Loveland, and Dr. Russell Carlson of Athens, Georgia; and a daughter, Grace Merkle, of Loveland.

Interment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Loveland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Covenant Church in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home, 1102 North Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, CO 80537.
