Bible App for Kids Downloaded More Than 1 Million Times

EDMOND, OK (December 11, 2013) — The Bible App for Kids produced by LifeChurch.tv, an Evangelical Covenant Church congregation, soared to more than one million downloads within just five days of its release on Thanksgiving Day.

Over the first weekend, it became the second most-downloaded overall free app for iPad, the third overall free app for iPhone, and the number one free app in the Kids or Education category on iTunes, Google Play, and the Amazon App Store.

The app is a children’s version of YouVersion and is designed to be interactive.

“Just like we’ve seen the Bible App transform how our generation is engaging with Scripture, we believe the Bible App for Kids will change how the next generation discovers the grand narrative of the Bible,” Bobby Gruenewald, LifeChurch.tv innovation pastor, told the Christian Post.

The app was developed in collaboration with the international ministry OneHope. It is available on multiple platforms.

Gruenewald said developers decided to go ahead with the project after 95 percent of the parents they surveyed said they would be interested in downloading the app.
