Memorial Service Set for Patricia Olson

VANCOUVER, BC (November 22, 2013)—When Patricia Olson was in her forties, she went to college to earn a degree in early childhood education with a focus on children with special needs. When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, she participated in multiple research studies so others could be helped.

Olson, the wife of retired Covenant pastor Fred Olson, died November 9. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 29, at Tenth Church in Vancouver.

Olson, 68, was born December 3, 1944, in Transcona, Manitoba. She and Fred were married August 11, 1979.

They served Community Covenant Church in Clear Lake, Washington; Calvary Covenant Church in Stockholm, Wisconsin; Bethlehem Covenant Church in Stephen, Minnesota; and Hallock Covenant Church in Hallock, Minnesota.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Selena Vogel and Kristen Duquette; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the DDA Foundation/Child Development Centres or the Alzheimer’s Society of BC/Research.
