Whitehall Covenant Sponsors Big Daddy Weave Concert

WHITEHALL, MI (January 14, 2012) – Whitehall Covenant Church will host a concert for community unity featuring Christian band Big Daddy Weave at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Montague Fine Arts Center. The church’s youth band HI5 also will perform.

Big Daddy Weave earned a Dove Award nomination as New Artist of the Year in 2002. They are one of the 10 most played artists on Christian radio over the past decade. Their current single, “Redeemed,” is in the Top Ten in Contemporary Christian music.

Tony Greve, former guitarist for the band Pop Evil, will share his testimony. Tickets for the concert only are $5. There also are tickets costing $10 and $20 for a seat and attendance at a meet and greet with the band. Pizza will be served.

Newsong LA 24-hour Prayer Chain Lifts Up ‘New Beginning’

IRVINE, CA (January 14, 2013) – Members of Newsong LA participated in a 24-hour prayer chain as they prepared for “A New Building. A New Beginning.” The congregation is moving into a new facility in February.

The prayer chain began at 6 p.m. and went until 6 p.m. Saturday at the Kairos Prayer Room in Culver City. Participants prayed on and offsite. Members of nearly every age participated, including the youth group, which prayed at 6 a.m. Saturday.

Congregants prayed that the church would be “inspired, focused, humbled, and energized,” said one leader.

Nick Bruckner New Executive Director of Alaska Camp

UNALAKLEET, AK (January 14, 2013) – Nick Bruckner has been called to serve as executive director of the Covenant Bible Camp.

Bruckner earned a Master of Divinity from North Park Theological Seminary and attended Duke Divinity School for a year. He also has served numerous roles at the camp.

Bruckner is a strong advocate for Christian camping. “Camp is a launching pad for the ministry of local churches,” he said. “When students make commitments to serve Christ at camp, we encourage them to be baptized in their local church.”
