WHITEHALL, MI (July 6, 2010) – The pastor of Lakewood Bible Church was befuddled when a person he had never met called to ask if members of the congregation would volunteer to help Whitehall Covenant Church with a construction project.
Associate Pastor Killed, Member Injured in Bus Crash
Associate Pastor Kyu Bum “Kenny” Ye was killed. Member Gary Parrett (accompanying photo), who is professor of Educational Ministries and Worship at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, is in critical condition following surgery to repair a brain hemorrhage. Parrett also serves as chair of the Ministry of the Church Division at the seminary. He served as a part-time pastor at Highrock from 2003-2004.
Orris Leaving Evangelism Position to Plant Church
CHICAGO, IL (July 2, 2010) – Lisa Orris will be leaving her position as director of evangelism for the Evangelical Covenant Church to accept a call to plant a church in an area south of Chicago, it was announced today by Dave Olson, executive minister of the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism.
