Third Week of Advent

Covenant News Service invited a group of photographers from across the denomination to submit photos that will be displayed in a special gallery each week throughout Advent. The photographs are related to a specific biblical text. This week’s text is Matthew 11:1-11.

About the Photographers

Tory Campbell is the lead pastor at Irvington Covenant Church in Portland, Oregon. Photos were taken during a recent Sankofa journey.

Martie Peterson is a member of Sojourner Covenant Church in Evanston, Illinois. She is married to Curt Peterson, the executive minister of the Department of World Mission.

Nils Peterson is a Covenant pastor serving as assistant to church planting in the Covenant Offices in Chicago. Nils lives in Evanston, IL with his wife Katie, and two children Nathan, 4, and Beatrice, 3.

Jennifer Chen is a graphic designer and photographer who is actively exploring the intersection of faith and artistic expression at Great Exchange Covenant Church in Fremont, California. Her musings and work can be seen at www.stillhouette.com.

Andrew Larsen is an ordained Covenant minister working with the Mosaics Project and considers photography a “serious hobby.” His photos of the Templo de la Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Spain were published in a 2009 issue of National Geographic Traveler. Advent photos were taken in Morocco.
