Covenant News Service invited a group of photographers from across the denomination to submit photos that will be displayed in a special gallery each week throughout Advent. The photographs are related to a specific biblical text. This week’s text is Matthew 3:1-11.
About the Photographers
Tory Campbell is the lead pastor at Irvington Covenant Church in Portland, Oregon. Photos were taken during a recent Sankofa journey.
Martie Peterson is a member of Sojourner Covenant Church in Evanston, Illinois. She is married to Curt Peterson, the executive minister of the Department of World Mission.
Nils Peterson is a Covenant pastor serving as assistant to church planting in the Covenant Offices in Chicago. Nils lives in Evanston, IL with his wife Katie, and two children Nathan, 4, and Beatrice, 3.
Jennifer Chen is a graphic designer and photographer who is actively exploring the intersection of faith and artistic expression at Great Exchange Covenant Church in Fremont, California. Her musings and work can be seen at www.stillhouette.com.
James Tolbert, Jr. is the Servant Leader of South Bay Community Church’s photography ministry. A former wedding and event photographer, he now specializes in street and documentary photography with an emphasis on social justice issues. His work can be found on flickr.
