CHICAGO, IL (November 22, 2010) – Registration for the spring term of North Park Theological Seminary regional intensive courses is available through December 15.
The courses are being offered in Atlanta, Georgia; Seattle, Washington; and Santa Barbara, California. Coursework begins at the start of the term, January 18, with one exception: the class taught by Linda Cannell in Seattle will be held prior to the start of the term.
The courses are similar to the intensive classes available in Chicago, except that more work will be done online before and after the in-class work, says Associate Dean Paul Koptak. He says the courses will enable more people to seek certificates and degrees.
For those interested in credentialed ministry in the Evangelical Covenant Church, the four survey courses in church history, New Testament, Old Testament, and theology offered at these regional locations are part of the basic requirements for licensing and eventual ordination.
Courses being offered in the spring semester:
- Atlanta – Interpreting the New Testament I, taught by Klyne Snodgrass (March 4-5 and April 15-16); Theology of Missions & Evangelism, taught by Mego Haralu (March 4-5 and April 15-16)
- Seattle – Interpreting the Old Testament I, taught by Paul Koptak (March 14-16)
- Santa Barbara – Recovering Essential Tasks of the Church: Education and Mission, taught by Linda Cannell (January 12-15); Interpreting the New Testament, taught by Jay Phelan (March 24-26)
