CHICAGO, IL (April 9, 2016) –The Covenant Companion was named the best denominational magazine at the annual Evangelical Press Association convention.
The Companion also won second place for publication redesign, and the Covenant Companion Online earned an Award of Merit in the category for best digital denominational magazine. Writer Dana Bowman earned top prize in the devotional category for her article “Broken,” as well as three other awards.
In total, the magazine and Covenant Companion Online earned 10 awards. EPA members produce more than 400 periodicals with a combined circulation of 20 million readers. Awards are given in more than 60 categories.
Ed Gilbreath, executive director for Covenant Communications, said, “The Companion is more than a magazine – it’s an instrument for informing, encouraging, and connecting the Covenant community. The Covenant Communications team works hard to produce a world-class publication and website that both proclaim and advance the mission of the church. I’m grateful and excited to see the industry recognize the quality of their work.”
