TOPEKA, KS (September 20, 2016) – Dana Bowman, online columnist and frequent feature writer for the Covenant Companion, recently was honored for her book, Bottled: A Mom’s Guide to Early Recovery, when it was placed on the 2016 Kansas Notable Books List.

An award ceremony was held September 10 at the State Capitol where Bowman was presented with a medal. In attendance was Mary Brownback, wife of governor Sam Brownback.

“It was an awesome honor,” Bowman says.

A committee of academics, librarians, and authors of previous Notable Books identifies titles published the previous year. State librarian Jo Budler selects the final list.

Bowman’s writing in the Companion received multiple awards from the Evangelical Press Association and Associated Church Press earlier this year.

More of her writing may be found at her Momsie blog.
