PLANTATION, FL (June 19, 2015) — A group of graduating senior-high students who attend Lakeview Covenant Church in Duluth, Minnesota, stopped by Covenant Village of Florida, a Covenant Retirement Community, to complete a service project before heading off to the rest of their class trip recently.
The 13 teenagers and six chaperones arrived in Fort Lauderdale International Airport, dropped off their bags at the hotel, and went straight to the retirement community. The students participated in a beautification project that included planting flowers and pulling up weeds around the grounds.
“It was a blessing for us to be able to come down here and help, and the kids were able to work on a service project together one last time,” said parent and chaperone Jill Broman.
Residents said they appreciated the students would make the stop before heading off on their Caribbean cruise.
