MCGREGOR, MN (May 15, 2015) — The Board of Directors of Covenant Pines Ministries has selected David Cairns as the new executive director of the camp. His overall responsibilities will include leading Adventurous Christians, Covenant Pines Bible Camp, Day Camp, and Silver Beach ministry.

Cairns will assume his new duties at the conclusion of the summer, which also is the twenty-sixth summer he has worked at a camp in some capacity.

He currently serves as executive director of Pilgrim Pines Conference Center in Swanzey, New Hampshire. He previously served as associate director at Covenant Pines and also served at Twin Lakes (Iowa) Bible Camp.

Cairns spent most of his years growing up in Minnesota. “The last ten years in New Hampshire have been a blessing to me and my family, but we’re excited to move back to Minnesota,” he said.

He is a graduate of North Park Seminary and is an ordained Covenant minister. He and his wife, Becky, have three children, Drew, 16, Trent, 14, and Annis, 12.

Cairns has run the Boston Marathon twice to raise money for camp scholarships and travels annually to Russia to mentor and teach new camp directors.
