Chaplain Lundblad Featured in Chicago Tribune

CHICAGO, IL (January 8, 2015) — The Chicago Tribune posted a lengthy feature on the work of Covenant chaplain Janet Lundblad on Sunday.

0108 lundblad mentionLundblad is coordinator chaplain of the Spiritual Services Department of Westlake Hospital in the Chicago suburb of Melrose Park. She has worked at the hospital for 15 years. She previously served as pastor of three Covenant congregations after graduating from North Park Theological Seminary.

Lundblad told the paper that her own life has benefited spiritually from the time she has spent with patients and their families, saying, “My spirit grows as I learn from patients’ and colleagues’ spiritual and religious traditions. I am learning to trust that God is there with them in their struggles, even when the answers don’t come quickly.”

  • Janet, I am glad to see you are serving a hospital. As a Pastor in Bellwood, Illinois, from 1982 – 1996. I had many church members who were at that hospital. I am glad you are serving there at this time. Bless your ministry. And I remember you from seminary. I was there from 1974 – 1978.

  • Way to go Janet. Love the article. It hits at the heart of being a chaplain and the important ministry that happens when people are at a time of crisis. Keep up the good work!
