Grand Forks Church First in Area to Use Video at Second Campus

GRAND FORKS, ND (January 16, 2014) — Hope Covenant Church has become the first church in this area to use video sermons at its satellite campus, which was started in 2012.

On Sundays Hope Covenant pastor Paul Knight preaches at 9 a.m. at the church’s main campus. The service is recorded and then a hard drive recording is driven to the Emerado campus 13 miles away. The video is then played at that congregation’s service, which begins at 11 a.m.

The Emerado church has its own live worship team, and the service is led by Pastor Keith Becker. About 80 people attend the church, which is located in what used to be a café and bar.

An article in the Grand Forks Herald reports that Hope has experienced rapid growth and now attracts as many as 1,000 attenders on Sundays, which makes it the largest evangelical congregation in the area.

Knight told the paper that the video sermons are part of good resource management because it frees up staff to devote additional time to other areas of ministry. The church hopes to possibly use the video to help other churches in small towns that have fewer resources.
