BOURBONNAIS, IL (July 18, 2013) – Marion V. (Peterson) Franklin, widow of Covenant pastor Theodore Franklin, died June 6. She was 92.
Franklin was born May 8, 1921, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Abel and Edith Peterson. She attended the University of Minnesota. She was a homemaker and also employed as an executive secretary for 25 years.
She married Theodore Franklin on April 2, 1942. He died February 8, 2002.
The Franklins served churches in New Jersey, Massachusetts, the Panama Canal Zone, Illinois, Minnesota, and Connecticut.
She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Bell and Sharon Driscoll; and three sons, Matthew, Peter, and Stephen.
A funeral service was held June 12 at the College Church of the Nazarene – University Campus in Bourbonnais. A graveside burial was June 14 at the Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Memorials may be given to the Rev. Theodore and Marion Franklin Scholarship at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago.

Marion was a great lady and an excellent pastor’s wife. We got to know both Ted and Marion well while we were both serving churches in Rockford, Illinois. They were good friends along our pastoral pilgrimage. Peace to her memory.
