CHICAGO, IL (May 7, 2013) – Stories about Covenanters caught up in violent circumstances were among the most-read Covenant News Service articles during the month of April.
Dave Cairns, executive director of Pilgrim Pines Conference Center, was just two-tenths of a mile short of the Boston Marathon finish line when the two bombs exploded. It was an hour and a half before he would learn that his family, who were supposed to be at the finish line, had been several blocks away. Half a world away in Central African Republic, Evangelical Covenant Church missionaries were forced to flee the country to Cameroon during a coup. Whether they will return has yet to be determined.
