MINNEAPOLIS, MN (January 29, 2013) – Delegates to the Northwest Conference annual meeting on April 25-27 will celebrate the centennial anniversary of Minnehaha Academy, where the gathering will be held.
Attendees also will have an opportunity to participate the next day with school students, parents, and alumni in the Centennial Mission Service Project. They will assist neighbors with home projects. A special centennial celebration and worship service will follow.
Tours of the academy will be available throughout the meeting. Minnehaha was founded in 1913 as a high school serving grades 9-12. Over the years, all grade levels were added, including preschool.
Kara Powell, author of “Sticky Faith,” will speak during the worship service on Friday, April 26. The service is open to everyone, not just delegates or annual meeting attendees. Powell will share again on Saturday morning.
The Friday business session will conclude with the “Celebration of Mission” ministry fair. Delegates and attendees will be able to interact with a host of conference and denomination-related ministries including representatives from conference camps, Women Ministries, Town and Country Ministries, Covenant Trust Company, Centro Hispano de Estudios Teologicos (CHET), and others.
Evangelical Covenant Church President Gary Walter will be the featured speaker during the Ministerium meeting.
