CROMWELL, CT (May 22, 2012) – A memorial service was conducted today for June (Meyers) Rask, 91, widow of Evangelical Covenant Church pastor K. Ejnar Rask.
She died Thursday morning at Pilgrim Manor Care Center of Covenant Village of Cromwell.
Rask was born July 31, 1920 in Charles City, Iowa. She attended Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and North Park College.
The Rasks were married in October 1947. He died in November 2009.
The couple served the Evangelical Covenant Church (now Flossmoor) in Chicago Heights, Illinois; Evangelical Covenant Church in South Bend, Indiana; Covenant Congregational Church (now Trinity Covenant) in Manchester, Connecticut; Covenant Congregational Church (now East Bridgewater) in Brockton, Massachusetts; First Covenant Church in Jamestown, New York; and Bethlehem Covenant Church in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Rask is survived by her three daughters: Barbara Pope of Tolland, Connecticut; Kaye Merritt of Lakewood, Colorado; and Carolyn Orne Favier of Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
The service took place in the Chapel at Pilgrim Manor. Philip Hakanson officiated.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Covenant Church, Manchester, Connecticut, or to the Benevolent Care Fund at Covenant Village of Cromwell.
