Covenant Shores Named to U.S. News Honor Roll

MERCER ISLAND, WA (February 15, 2012) – The nursing home at the Covenant Shores Retirement Community has been named one of the 39 best in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

Of the 15,500 nursing homes that the magazine reviewed, only 39 appear on the 2012 Honor Roll released February 7. To make the honor roll, a center must receive at least four consecutive quarters of five-star ratings from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services in three areas that the agency evaluates — health inspections, nursing staff and quality of care.

“Our continuing five-star performance reflects the commitment of each employee at our skilled nursing center,” says Anne Arakaki-Lock, Covenant Shores executive director. “We’re proud to offer the very best to rehab patients and seniors in the Seattle area.”

Riverview Lutheran Care Center in Spokane was the only other Washington nursing home on the 2012 U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll. To read the complete list, visit the magazine website.

Covenant Shores is a nationally accredited not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located at 9150 Fortuna Drive in Mercer Island, Washington. It is administered by Covenant Retirement Communities Inc. on behalf of the Board of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
