CHICAGO, IL (May 6, 2011) The deaths of several Covenanters as well as transitions in leadership at the denominational and conference levels were among the most-read Covenant News Service stories for the month of April.
Two people who had given their lives to Christ at Evangelical Covenant churches were murdered in separate incidents during Holy Week, and longtime missionary and educator Jerry Reed died of cancer. Stories of leadership transition focused on the new nominee for executive minister for the Department of Women Ministries, and the election of Tammy Swanson-Draheim as Midwest Conference superintendent.
