Men’s Soccer Team Unsuccessful in Tourney Bid

CHICAGO, IL (November 15, 2010) – The North Park University men’s soccer team bowed out of the NCAA Division III national tournament with a 2-0 loss to UW-Oshkosh in Wisconsin Saturday night.UW-Oshkosh scored both of its goals in the first half, the first coming on a penalty kick in the 27th minute and the second coming in the 29th minute.

North Park out-shot Oshkosh 11-8, but the hosts had eight shots on goal to the Vikings’ three.

The Vikings finish the season with a 13-5-2 record, the most wins in a season under 12th year coach John Born and earned their first-ever NCAA tournament win in the first round. The Vikings defeated Hope College 1-0 on Friday night.
