SPRING VALLEY, CA (January 21, 2010) – A memorial service for Jean (Olson) Sands, 82, widow of Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Donald Sands, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Mt. Miguel Covenant Village. Sands died January 17.

Sands was born in 1927 in Wilmar, Minnesota. She married her husband in 1946. He preceded her in death.

The couple served churches in Uppsala, Minnesota; Chicago, Illinois; Phoenix, Arizona; Martha Lake, Washington; and Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Survivors include four daughters: Mari Rothman, Shirley Stauber, Nancy Aylward, and Donna Newell.
