MANCHESTER, CT (January 20, 2010) – A memorial service for retired Evangelical Covenant Church Pastor Robert H. DeValve, 79, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Trinity Covenant Church. He died Sunday.

DeValve had been serving as pastor of missions at Trinity.

DeValve was born June 20, 1930, in Baldwin, New York. He married Jean Keller on June 15, 1957. She survives.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Union College, a master’s degree in Oriental Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in Islamic Studies from Hartford Seminary.
